Solid Carbon Fiber Sheets and Plates
Kumair offers a wide variety of options for solid carbon fiber sheets and plates. Thinner carbon fiber sheets up to 1/8" can be used for lighter duty applications or for aesthetics. Thicker carbon fiber plates up to 1.5" thick can be produced for even the most demanding applications. Multiple surface finishes are available including vinyl design application. High Temperature Carbon Fiber
Kumair manufactures high temperature carbon fiber sheets and custom molded parts capable of operating temperatures in excess of 500F. Testing has shown little to no stiffness reduction up to 500F and the ability to survive short durations up to 600F.
Carbon Fiber Sandwich Sheets with Core
Kumair manufactures carbon fiber sandwich sheets with a range of core materials including foam, honeycomb, and metal. Foam and honeycomb cores create extremely lightweight, high stiffness-to-ratio panels that are easily machined to shape. Metal core carbon fiber composites make it possible to drill and tap threaded holes without inserts. Metal cores also greatly increase the damage tolerance of the part, create a light-tight and vacuum-tight laminate, and maintain the nearly yield-free characteristics of a solid carbon fiber sheet.
Flame Retardant Carbon Fiber
Kumair manufactures flame retardant carbon fiber flat sheets and molded parts that meet FAR 25.863(a) Appendix F vertical burn testing.
Large Diameter Carbon Fiber Tubes
Kumair has the ability to manufacture large diameter carbon fiber tubes ranging from a few inches up to 24" diameter, and up to 48" length. There are many applications where a lightweight, rigid large diameter tube is required. It is also possible to add different core materials, for example foam or honeycomb, into the laminate to increase local wall rigidity.
